Fertilizer Corp to revive Ramagundam unit

Fertilizer Corp of India is planning to revive its fertilizer unit in Ramagundam in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. The plant has been declared sick unit in 1992. The central government has provided in-principle clearance to the project and approved an investment of Rs. 50000 million. The project may be jointly established by National Fertilizers Ltd and Engineers India Ltd.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers to expand its Kakinada urea plant

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd is planning to expand its Kakinada plant in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 45,000 million. The company has awarded the EPC contract to Techimont of Italy. The brownfield expansion programme of 1.3 mtpa will increase the total capacity of the plant to 2.9 mtpa. The project is located near KG basin natural gas reserves and West & East Godvari agri belt where urea shortage is high.

Andhra Sugars to expand its fertilizer unit in Kovvur

Andhra Sugars to expand its fertilizer unit in Kovvur in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 170 million. The project involves expanding its fertilizer unit to produce single super phosphate (300 tpd), caustic potash (50 tpd), chlorine (10 tpd) etc., The unit will use membrane cell process for its caustic potash stream and will produce phosphate by reaction of rock phosphate with dilute sulphuric acid.

KPR Fertilizers plans expansion programme at Biccavolu

KPR Fertilizers is planning an expansion programme at Biccavolu village in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. It will produce Di-methyl Sulphate, Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid, Alum (Ferric/Non ferric) and Chloro Sulphonic Acid on expansion. Currently, it produces Single Super Phosphate, NPK Mixtures, Di-Calcium Phosphate and sulphuric acid. The project also involves setting up a captive power generation unit of 3 MW.
