Coromandel Fertilizers is setting up a water soluble fertilizer plant at its Kakinada plant in Andhra Pradesh in joint venture with Chile based SQM group. It will have a capacity of 15000 mtpa and will produce crop specific fertilizers. It also invests in R&D to make this water soluble fertilizers to suit the climatic conditions of India. The new products will be launched in mid 2012.

Oswal Chemicals & Fertilizers is planning to set up a fertilizer plant in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 70,000 million. The project also involves a captive power plant of 100 MW. It will have a capacity of 1.2 million tpa to produce urea using natural gas. It will also produce DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate). The required phosphate will be imported from Saudi Arabia.

Makhteshim-Agan, an Israel-based company has commenced its enivronment friendly pesticide unit operations in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. It will manufacture diverse, environmentally friendly products, including herbicides, insecticides and fungicides for virtually every conventional crop and non-crop category. It is also setting up a research facility at Pulivendula in Cuddapah district in Andhra Pradesh. The projects will entail investments of around Rs.4500 million.

Nagarjuna Fertilizer and Chemicals to set up wet blending unit at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up of wet blending unit for production of customized fertilizer with a capacity of 1.30 Lakh MT/Annum. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 370 million.
