Chambal Fertilizers to set up fertilizer unit in Unakoti

Chambal Fertilizers, a K K Birla Group Co is planning to set up a fertilizer unit in Unakoti district of Tripura. The company has signed an MoU with ONGC in July 2013. The project cost is estimated at Rs.. 50,000 million. The plant capacity is envisaged at 1.3 million tpa. ONGC will supply the required natural gas. Tripura state government has agreed to provide land and logistics support for the project.

Premier Agro Biotec to set up nutrients unit in Sonkuchi

Premier Agro Biotech is planning to set up a fertilizer nutrients unit in Sonkuchi village in Ghilazari Tehsil in Barpeta district of Assam. The project involves setting up of manufacturing facilities to produce zinc sulphate (1200 tpa).

NSL Group plans fertilizer plant in Tripura

NSL Group (formerly Nuziveedu Seeds) is planning to set up a fertilizer plant in Tripura using the recent gas find in Kubola field. The company had submitted proposals to the state government as well as to ONGC for gas linkage. The project entails an investment of Rs.60,000 million. The gas find during the exploratory phase contains 95% methane and is fit for fertilizer making purpose. It may be noted, ONGC has invited tenders seeking a joint venture partner in Feb 2012 but has not yet finalized a partner.

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corp plans expansion of Namrup plant

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corp in is planning to invest Rs. 36000 million to expand its Namrup fertilizer plant through joint venture route. The planning commission of India had advised the company to look for funds through joint venture route. Development India Ltd has prepared the techno feasibility report for setting up the 4th unit of ammonia urea unit. The company is in talks with Oil India and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers. The proposed plant capacity is estimated at 8.64 lakh tpa. With new technology brought in, the fertilizer company can efficiently utilize the 1.72 mmscmd of gas and can run with full capacity against 50% capacity currently in operation.
