Fertilizer and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) is adding zinc to its popular fertilizer Factomfos. After effective research, the company felt the need for a single fertilizer that provides essential macro and micro nutrients of plants. Evidently, Zinc is added to Factomfos its complex fertilizer. It also launched zincated gypsum, a soil conditioner and fertilizer for crops. Normally, zinc is added to alkaline soil in India, where most part of country is zinc deficient, now research finds zinc in acidic soil is also effective for crops like plaintain, rubber and paddy in Kerala.
