IFFCO had set up a greenfield manufacturing facility in Kandla to produce zinc sulphate monohydrate fortified fertilizers in the country. It will have an annual capacity of 30,000 tpa and had entailed an investment of Rs. 290 million. Currently, 50% of the Indian soil has zinc deficiency and this product can help it reduce the same by 20 to 25%. The product is likely to packaged in a 5 kg pouch and sold over India.
Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals is planning to set up a single super phosphate unit in Dahej in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 1220 million and will have a capacity of 500.000 tonnes. The company is also expanding its capacity at Gadepan in Kota in Rajasthan to 200,000 tonnes. The expansion programme at Gadepan is estimated at Rs. 325 million.
IFFCO to expand its fertilizer plant at Kandla in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 300 million. It may be noted, it has recently expanded its production capacity from 5.19 Lakhs MTPA to 10.0 Lakh MTPA of P2O5. The new project involves construction of Sulphuric Acid storage tank and modernization of existing operating unit.
