Fertilizer Corp of India is planning to revive its fertilizer unit in Gorakpur. The plant was closed after an accident in 1990 and is being revived following an clearance of the proposal by CCEA. A team of experts is likely to visit the site soon. Further, the Hazira-Vijaypur-Jagdishpur petroleum gas pipeline is being extended upto Gorakhpur to supply gas for the fertilizer unit.

Chambal Fertilizers, a K K Birla Group Co is planning to set up a fertilizer unit in Unakoti district of Tripura. The company has signed an MoU with ONGC in July 2013. The project cost is estimated at Rs.. 50,000 million. The plant capacity is envisaged at 1.3 million tpa. ONGC will supply the required natural gas. Tripura state government has agreed to provide land and logistics support for the project.

Andhra Sugars to expand its fertilizer unit in Kovvur in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 170 million. The project involves expanding its fertilizer unit to produce single super phosphate (300 tpd), caustic potash (50 tpd), chlorine (10 tpd) etc., The unit will use membrane cell process for its caustic potash stream and will produce phosphate by reaction of rock phosphate with dilute sulphuric acid.

KPR Fertilizers to set up SSP and DCP unit in Halvarthi

KPR Fertilizers to set up a fertilizer unit in Halvarthi village in Kunikeri Mandal in Koppal district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 39 million. The project involves setting up of a manufacturing unit to produce single super phosphate (SSP) 200 mtpd, di-calcium phosphate DCP) (10 mtpd) and a mixing unit with a capacity of 40 mtpd. Currently, the company has a NPK mixture unit at the existing location.
