Maharashtra government is planning to set up a customized fertilizer plant in Ahmednagar with an investment of Rs. 500 million. This will be a pilot project and on gauging its success more such projects will be implemented in the state. The government has appointed Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corp as lead manager to implement the project on public-private partnership basis.
KPR Fertilizers is planning an expansion programme at Biccavolu village in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. It will produce Di-methyl Sulphate, Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid, Alum (Ferric/Non ferric) and Chloro Sulphonic Acid on expansion. Currently, it produces Single Super Phosphate, NPK Mixtures, Di-Calcium Phosphate and sulphuric acid. The project also involves setting up a captive power generation unit of 3 MW.
